Lisa A. Bishop, 57, of Litchfield, died Sunday, Feb.
13, 2011, at 10:03 a.m. at St. Francis Hospital, Litchfield.
Friends
are invited to call Friday, Feb. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hough and
Son's Funeral Home, Hillsboro. A celebration of life will be held
Saturday, Feb. 19, at 1 p.m. at the Litchfield Fireman's Club. Private
family burial will be at a later date.
Born, Feb. 7, 1954, at Mt.
Vernon, she was the daughter of Gorham L. and Charlene (Russell) Pigg.
She married David Bishop Sept. 23, 1972. He survives.
Mrs.
Bishop was a 1972 graduate of Litchfield High School. She earned her
associate degree from Lincoln Land Community College and a bachelor's
degree in business from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville,
graduating from both colleges with honors.
She worked as a
project director at AARP Foundation in St. Louis County. Prior to that,
she worked at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield as a
director of the TEAL Program. She made a personal and positive impact on
everyone she knew whether it was with girl or boy scouts, coaching
sports, or tutoring which was a top priority for her. She was a mentor
to each person she touched.
Survivors include her mother of
Litchfield; a son, Justin (wife Jessica) Bishop of Springfield; a
daughter, Shannon (husband Dustin) Foster of Richmond, VA; three
brothers, Scott (wife Connie) Pigg, Eric (wife Sandy) Pigg, and Steve
(wife Mollie) Pigg, all of Litchfield; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; and a brother, Marc Pigg.
In
lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Rotary
Nature Trail at Lake Lou Yaeger in Litchfield. Online condolences can be
