Elsie Mazzier, 86, of Hillsboro died at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at Hillsboro Rehab & Health Care.
Visitation
will be Saturday, Feb. 12, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at
noon at Hough & Sons Funeral Home. The Rev. H. Matthew Ferguson will
officiate. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Hillsboro.
Born
Oct. 18, 1924, at Hillsboro, she was a daughter of the late George and
Alice (Crawford) Dawson. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in
1943. She married Tulio "Chick" Mazzier Oct. 28, 1945, at the First
Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro were she was a member. The Rev. Thomas
Melton presided. Her husband preceded her in death on Jan. 4, 2005.
Mrs.
Mazzier was employed at the Montgomery County Courthouse from 1943 to
1950. She worked for the treasurer's office for three years and the
county clerk's office for four years. She had also worked at Heselov's
style shop.
She was a volunteer at Hillsboro Area Hospital in the
admitting area, and volunteered at Graham Correctional Center helping
inmates get their GED.
Survivors include a son, Robert (wife
Janet) Mazzier of Decatur; a daughter, Jane (husband Tom) Trimble of
Williamsburg, VA; and two sisters, Mary Ann Borror, and Margaret
(husband John) Haarstick, all of Hillsboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Shriner's Hospital or the First Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro.
