Billy Andrew McLean 81 of Hillsboro passed away May 11, 2017 at his residence.

He was born Sept 10, 1935 in Hillsboro to Charles Andrew and Gertie Illinois (Beer) McLean.

He was a 1953 Graduate of Hillsboro High School. He retired after 32 years as a repairman for the Coffeen coal mine and crown three coal mine in Farmersville.

He was a member of Schram City Baptist church, UMWA district 12. He enjoyed fishing and roller skating. He enjoyed artistic welding and had received several accommodations for his work ethic.

He served in the US Navy during the Korean War as a Machinist Mate.

He married Janice Parkins on May 12, 1961 and she survives.

He is survived by one daughter Melisa McLean and companion Brian Kolde of St. Louis Mo, and two sons Richard McLean wife Tammy of Springfield IL and Shawn McLean of Hillsboro, 5 grandchildren including Nicholas McLean of Springfield and 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents’ one brother Charles McLean, sisters Loretta “Pauline” Pearse, Lucille Dilley Craig and Lorine Lentz.

Memorials can be directed to MCCA or American Cancer Association.

Funeral services will be Wednesday May 17, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Ralph Ward officiating; Visitation will begin Wednesday at 11:30 A.M.

Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro.

Full military rites will be conducted graveside by VFW #1306 of Taylor Springs and Irving American Legion Post 425.
