Charles David “Butch” Jones 79 of Butler passed away April 17, 2017 at his residence.

He was born in Morrisonville IL on July 11, 1937 to Clarence A and Olivia (Grundy) Jones.

He was a graduate of Morrisonville High School in1955 and attended farmers college at U of I.

He was lifelong farmer in the Butler area, He was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church and St. Raymond’s K of C, and he was a 4H leader, Cub Scout leader, Montgomery County Farm Bureau member, Beef and Pork Producers Association.

He married Shirley (Franklin) on Oct. 7, 1961.

He is survived by his wife, two sons Jeff (Linda) Jones of Butler and Matt (Chris) Jones of Chatham, four grandchildren David Jones, Tyler Jones, Jason Jones and Makenzie Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson Nicholas Jones in 2002, one brother Howard and one sister Norma Curtis.

Visitation will be Thursday April 20 from 4-8 P.M. at Hough Funeral Home in Raymond.

Funeral mass will be Friday April 21at 10:00 A.M. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro with Rev. Fr. James Neuman officiating.

Memorials can be directed to St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro or St. Raymond’s Catholic Church in Raymond.

Burial will be in Wares Grove Cemetery in Butler.

A luncheon will be served at the Raymond K of C Hall following burial.
