Eugenia “Jean” Duncil 96 of Hillsboro passed away Jan 7 2018 at Montgomery Nursing and Rehab.
She was born in Donnellson IL on Aug. 7, 1921 to Randolph and Nellie (Schluckebier) Edwards.
She was a graduate of Hillsboro High School in1939 and she went to Greenville College for two years.
Prior to getting married she was a bookkeeper, Telephone operator and a one room school house teacher. She was a 90 year member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, past member of the Hillsboro Lions, 40 year member of the women of the moose and she volunteered at Hillsboro Area Hospital for 20 years. She enjoyed traveling, stage plays, reading and visiting with friends.
She married Glenn Duncil in 1944 and after 52 years of marriage he preceded her in death in 1996.
She is survived by one daughter Cindy Duncil of Hillsboro, one son Bruce (Carol) Duncil of Duluth GA, 4 grandchildren Kynna (James) Garner ESQ., of Marietta GA., Alyssa Vaughn ESQ., of Cumming GA., Emily (T.J.) Vazquez of Marietta GA., and Lucas (Princess) Duncil of Oakwood GA., three great grandchildren Eli and Ezra Garner and Gabriel Duncil, two Nephews Leo (Beverly) Kenny of Coffeen and Joe (Cecilla) Kenny of Chicago and one niece Thersa (Robert) Coleman of Greenville IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister Adeline Kenny in 1965.
Memorials can be directed to St Paul’s Lutheran Church or Hillsboro Area Hospital foundation.
Visitation will be Wed. Jan 10th 2018 from 4-7 P.M. at Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
Funeral services will be Thursday Jan 11th 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Hough & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Sands and Mark Noyes officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro.
