James “Jim’” Butler 80 of Hillsboro passed away June 7, 2017 at his residence.

He was born Aug. 18, 1936 in Hillsboro to Maxwell and Nellie (Farrell) Butler.

He worked at Eagle Picher in Hillsboro for over 27 years.

He was a member of the Raymond Baptist Church, President of Cress Hill Cemetery Association, Hillsboro OES Herman Chapter 95, Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge 51 AF & AM, past member to the Hilltop coin club and the Illinois National Guard.

He married Charlene Hemken on April 1, 1956.

He is survived by his wife, sons Rob (Cindy) Butler of Mt. Olive and Ronnie (Tammy) Butler of Irving and one daughter Teresa Elam of Baytown TX, 6 grandchildren and 7 Great grandchildren and one brother Richard Butler of Decatur IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers Edward, Harold, Glen, Harley and Brick Butler and one sister Verna Butler..

A Memorial service will be Tuesday June 13, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Ronnie Butler officiating. A visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 until service time.

Burial and Masonic Rites will be in Cress Hill cemetery in Hillsboro.
