John Pearson

June 1, 1935 ~ January 8, 2017 (age 81) 81 Years Old

John Albert Pearson 81 of Hillsboro passed away Sunday Jan. 8th 2017 at Montgomery nursing and Rehab Center in Taylor Springs.

John was born June 1, 1935 in St Louis but grew up in Butler IL.

 He graduated from Hillsboro High school in 1953; he attended Shurtliff College in Alton where he played football. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve until his discharge in 1963 at Ft. Leonard Wood Mo.

He married Janice Young in 1955 and she survives.

Also surviving are 2 daughters Joan Keith husband Russell of Little Elm TX, Jean Pearson of Little Elm TX and one son James Pearson of Hillsboro, 5 grandchildren Sabrina Kouns husband Jason, Christopher Volpone wife Kelley, Mia Pearson, Sierra Pearson and Blakely Jones Pearson and one great grandchild Lexi Kouns.

He was employed by Phillips Petroleum co. for 30 years as an auditor and office manager, after retiring at age 50 he organized Pearson Inventory Services, traveling with his son from Chicago to Florida each month. In 1990 he and his wife moved to Hillsboro, building a log home on Walshville Tr. He opened a woodworking shop on Tilson Pl., building, repairing and refinishing furniture retiring from that in 2015.

He was a 50 year member of the Masons and Moose Club. He will be remembered as a fisherman, wood worker, collector and a loving grandfather and great grandfather.

A visitation will be Friday Jan 13, 2017 at Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro from 10-11 A.M. followed by a burial in Wares Grove Cemetery in Butler.
