LaVerne “Vern” A. Delaplain, 95, of Pasadena, TX, died, Jul. 27, 2016, at his residence.

Graveside services will be held at Brown Cemetery in Pocahontas, on Aug 12, 2016 at 1:00 P.M.

Mr. Delaplain was born on Aug. 7, 1920, in Hillsboro to Arthur E. and Mary Ellen (Brown) Delaplain. 

He was a WWII Army Veteran  and a member of the Rotary for 35yrs.

He was a professor at San Jacinto College in Pasadena, he married Myra Wilkins on July 7, 1939, in St. Charles, MO. She preceded him in Jan. of 2014.

Also surviving are one son, John Delaplain of Pasadena, TX, and one daughter, Sybil (Blas) Hernandez of Pearland, TX. Also surviving is, a granddaughter Suzanne Hernandez of Pearland, TX.

His parents, one son, Arthur Delaplain, four brothers, and two sisters, preceded her in death.
