Paul Hartline Coderko, 59, of Burbank, CA, died on Sept. 23, 2017.

He was born on Oct. 20, 1957 in Hillsboro, the son of Anthony John and Dorothy Jane (Hartline) Coderko. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his grandparents, Anthony G. and Mary L. (Hornak) Coderko and Paul T. and Dorothy (Crowder) Hartline.

Survivors include his three children, Jenifer Nicole 27, Thomas Anthony 24, and Kathryn Jane 23, all residents of Burbank, CA. He is also survived by three sisters, Jan Marcott, Kim Spencer, and Ann Coderko, as well as his aunt Mary (Hartline) Donahue, nephew Doug Niehaus and nieces Brooke Spencer, Jenna Spencer,  Auna Williams, and her son, Beckham. He is also survived by the love of his life, Cheryl Rider.

He was a 1976 graduate of Hillsboro High School and attended Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville for two years and was a graduate of the University of Southern California (USC) film school with a bachelor of arts in film and television production.

His long career in television included work as a stage manager and assistant director on various sitcoms–Night Court, Growing Pains, Girlfriends, Saved by the Bell, and George Lopez, just to name a few. Most recently he has been working for KTLA early morning news show for almost 20 years and Fox Football on Sundays since 2011.

Growing up in Hillsboro, he was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He served the same church that his three children were baptized in, Saint Robert Bellarmine. Once a month he would minister to the sick and elderly by serving them communion in their homes.

Those who truly knew him will miss his beautiful generous spirit, his love of laughter, shared good times, his love of rock and roll, football and most importantly the deep love he had for all his family. He displayed compassion and kindness to everyone he met, including even the most down-trodden in life.

Visitation will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hillsboro on Friday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. until noon with the service and luncheon immediately following. Hough Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.
