Ben W. Pope

Ben W. Pope, 48, of Raymond, passed away on the 13thof October 2019 in Farmersville, Illinois. 

Ben was born on April 5, 1971 in Hillsboro, Illinois to William and Barbara Hefley Pope. 

He served in the US Navy and attended MTI for Welding.  He was employed by the Village of Raymond Street Dept. for a number of years.

Ben was known for his musical talent, playing guitar for area bands that included, “Lil Higgy and the House Reckers”, “Home by 11”, “Murder of Crowes”, “FUBAR Blues Band”, “Antone and The Blue Shadows” and “Mike Kraner and the Silver Tones” among others. He was always up for an impromptu jam session with who ever wanted to play. 

He is survived by his parents Bill and Barb Pope of Raymond, sister, Julie Pope of Knoxville, TN. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday Oct. 17th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Community of Faith Living Center in Raymond

A Memorial service will take place at 7 p.m. also at the living center.

Memorials may be given to the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight.
