Don G. Clinard 68 of Hillsboro passed away Saturday Nov. 25, 2017.

He was born in Hillsboro IL on July 26, 1949 to Gib and Ruby (McNeely) Clinard.

He was a graduate of Hillsboro high school and McKendree University.

He started work as an English and history teacher, and then became a floral designer first having his own business in Jacksonville IL then working for Henery’s greenhouse, IGA and Robins Nest all in Hillsboro.

He is survived by one sister Karen Clinard Seward of Butler, nephews Greg Seward of Butler, Brett and Jo Ann Seward of Taylor Springs and Eric and Jill Seward of Birmingham AL and one niece Christine Norman of Hillsboro.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two nephews Jeff Seward and James Norman.

He was a member and faithful servant of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, Hillsboro K of C #4608, Hillsboro Library board and president of Oak Grove Cemetery Association.

He was a friend to everyone and very social, he didn’t know a stranger, and an avid antique collector. He loved his cats and flower gardening.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to the funeral home.

Visitation will be Wednesday Nov. 29 from 4-7 P.M. with a prayer service starting at 4 P.M. at Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

Funeral mass will be held Thursday Nov 30 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro with Rev. Fr. Dan Willenborg and Rev. Fr. James Neuman officiating.

Private family burial will be held at a later date.

Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.
