Harold Niehaus Obituary

 

Harold W. “Bill” Niehaus 88 of Hillsboro formerly of Raymond passed away April 23, 2019 at his residence.

He was born in Raymond IL on July 1, 1930 to Cecil and Beulah (Nettleship) Niehaus.

He was a lifelong farmer and worked at Hough Funeral home for Bob Hough.

He served in the US Marines H Co. 1st Marine Division during the Korean War; he was injured on Oct. 4, 1952 and received a purple heart.

He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, DAV and American Legion.

He married Lorena Schum in Raymond on Feb. 1, 1951.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters Susan Feeny of Hillsboro, Nancy (Andy) Pearson of Arizona, Annette Boston of Arizona and one son Scott (Tami) Niehaus of Butler, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, three sisters Janet Ruemmler, Barbara Husman and Carolyn Siddens.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandchild, one brother Robert and three sisters Betty, Frances and Mary.

Visitation will be Thursday April 25, 2019 from 5-7 PM at Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

Memorial service will be Friday April 26, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Fr. James Neuman officiating.

Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield IL.
