Janet Irene Hough Held, age 63, of Raymond, passed away at 8:15am on Nov. 10, 2017 at her home in Raymond.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday Nov. 15 at St. Raymond’s Catholic Church in Raymond with Fr. Jerry Bunse officiating.  Visitation will be held at the church from  4pm to 7pm. on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be given to the MCCA, the Food Pantry or St. Judes.

Janet was born Dec. 28, 1953, in Litchfield, IL, She was the daughter of the late Robert Anthony and Temple Irene Wilson Hough. She was a Graduate of Lincolnwood class of 1972

She worked as a surgery dental assistant for Dr. Millhon DDS in Springfield for 15 yrs and later at Wal-Mart. She was a member of St. Raymond Catholic Church in Raymond, in the past; Janet had taken a very active part and enjoyed teaching the children in the Catechism and PSR Programs at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville and at St. Raymond in Raymond..

She was a die hard St. Louis Cardinal Fan, one of her many acts of kindness; was in 2015 “Aunt Nano” was able to treat her family to a Cards game. She enjoyed sewing, playing Poly Anna and card games and being a “Mom” to her Nieces and Nephews.

She married Gary Held on January 14, 1995 at St. Raymond.

Besides her husband she is survived by; a sister Dee (Dennis) Williams of Raymond, 3 Step Children; Jodi (Ed) Springer of Delavan, IL, Justin Held of Morrisonville, IL and Damon (Lauren) Held of Auburn, IL, and 3 step grand children; Christian, Dylan and Reed. She was Aunt Nano to Dan (Brenda Tyree)Hough of Raymond David (Karen) Hough of Hillsboro, Chad   Williams of Taylorville, Christy (Tom) Mulligan of Arcola, Garret (Jackie Minton)Williams of Springfield and their kids, Kelsey, Haley, Brandi, Brittany, Zada, and Ava, Jordan and Piper, and Cooper, Drew, Morgan, Lauren, Lucas, Jacob, Addison, Sam, Sydni, Jada, Lana, Levi, Jonah.  

Besides her parents, a sister Nancy Ann Hough and a brother William R. Hough preceded her in death.

Burial will be in St. Raymond Cemetery in Raymond, IL

Hough Funeral Home in Raymond is in charge of arrangements.
