Leon Leslie Warnsing, age 90, of Raymond, passed away Friday, September 13, 2019 at his home.
He was born January 1, 1929 the son of Ross and Bertha White Warnsing in Rountree Township in Montgomery County Illinois.
He married Martha Ann Bergschneider on Friday, December 13, 1957 in Springfield and she survives.
He is also survived by three children; Daniel Warnsing of Taylorville, Gail (Tom) Irwin of Raymond and Mitchell (Susie) Warnsing of Auburn; four grandchildren Steve (Alma) Warnsing of St. Louis Missouri Shalana (Joshua) Asaad of Taylorville, Randi (Joshua) Benedict of Fenton, MO and Ty (Rachel) Irwin of Raymond; 12 grandchildren; Two sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Adams of Phoenix, AZ and Rose Marie Blackburn of Taylorville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by all of his siblings Keith Warnsing, Norma Braye and June House.
He graduated from Nokomis High School with the class of 1947 and enlisted in the US Air Force in December 1948. He served until September 1952 when he was honorable discharge as Staff Sergeant.
He was a former Volunteer Fireman for the Raymond Harvel Dept. He was employed by the Panhandle School District Unit #2 for 48 years he retired in 2004 after driving three generations of children to school. He also Farmed in Rountree Township retiring from that in 1991.
No services are planned memorials may be directed to the Raymond-Harvel Ambulance Service.
