Louis Spires Obituary
Louis E. Spires 78 of Litchfield passed away Aug 1, 2018 at his residence.
He was born in Joliet IL on April 4, 1940 to Louis and Elizabeth (Stickle) Spires.
He worked at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield for over 27 years in maintenance and electrical departments. He received a refrigeration diploma from Joliet Jr. College.
He served in the US Army in Special Forces. He was a member of the Litchfield VFW 3912, Litchfield Amvets Post 16 and Litchfield American Legion #436 and the Litchfield Moose Lodge #1643 for 30 plus years.
He is survived by partner Tomi Phillips of Litchfield two sons Dan and Doug Spires, one daughter Dana Pike and one step daughter Ashley Mitts of Girard, several Grandchildren and several great grandchildren, one brother John Spires and two sisters Sue Spires and Jeri Vici.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Richard “Sonny” Spires.
Memorials can be directed to the donor’s choice.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
