Nakita Rose Ahrens 21 of Staunton passed away Nov. 5, 2018 at her residence.
She was born in Hillsboro IL on March 29, 1997 to Ada White Grant and David Linville and stepfather Howard McMillin.
She attended Gillespie High School.
She worked at Subway restaurant in Staunton.
She married Michael Ahrens on March 3, 2017 and he survives.
She is also survived by her grandparents James and Margaret “Granny” Doolin of Hillsboro, her mother Ada White Grant, Brothers Alan Michael McMillin, Noah McMillin and Rueben McMillin all of Eagarville and sisters Sarah (Doolin) Laurent of Hillsboro, Ava M. McMillin of Coffeen, Roseann McMillin of Staunton, Madison L McMillin of Eagarville and Mackinzie McMillin of Iowa, one nephew Alex McMillin Perry and two nieces Hannah and Hailey Laurent and uncle Leonard White of Hillsboro.
She attended Schram city Baptist Church in her youth, she attended first Southern Baptist Church in Litchfield and Assembly of God churches in Staunton and Gillespie. She was very active in youth groups at church and church camp and was a wonderful singer. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and reading. She will always be remembered for her fun, outgoing personality. She was preceded in death by her grandpa Billy Linville.
Memorials can be directed to her family.
Visitation will be Friday Nov. 9th from 1-2 P.M at Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro then everyone will proceed to Robinson Cemetery in Pocahontas for a grave side service with Rev. Nathan Nelson, and Rev. Duncan Ahrens officiating.
