Rebecca "Becky" Matli Obituary

Rebecca (Becky) A. Matli, age 65, of Raymond passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. Becky was born in Litchfield, Il on April 22, 1953, the daughter of the Raymond (Jiggs) and Marjorie "Marge" (Trinkle)Hough.

She married Dennis Matli on May 27,1972 at St. Raymond’s Catholic Church in Raymond. She is a member of St. Raymond’s Catholic Church and is a member of the Montgomery County Breast Cancer Association, as well as Altar Rosary Society.

She a was graduate of the Tri-County Beauty Academy, and had worked as a beautician, cleaned houses, and worked for Franklin Life Insurance in Springfield. She most recently worked for Borgic Farms as a Farrowing Specialist (Midwife) for last 15 years until she retired this year.

She enjoyed watching the Cubs play baseball, spending time with her family and her friends, crafting, and painting.

Becky was such an inspiration for so many people who were fighting cancer. She dearly loved and cherished her friendships with her “Breast Cancer Sisters.” She has always kept her faith and encouraged others to do the same. Her strength, determination, and faith in God will be remembered by all. Her famous saying was “Always Fight, Never Give Up, and Always Keep the Faith in God.”

Besides her mother, Marge Hough of Hillsboro and her husband, Dennis, she is survived by her four children, Joshua (Jennifer) Matli of Raymond, Sara (Mike) Hegarty of Kansas City, MO, Rachael Hattenbach of Nokomis, and Ben (Jaclyn) Matli of Nokomis. Also, of Hillsboro, her sister, Kathy (Ken) Caraway, of Atwood, and her nine grandchildren: JoBeth, Jenna, Andrew, Gabe, Abby, Shelby, Kolby, Izayah, and Izeck.

She is preceded in death by her father, Raymond (Jiggs) Hough and brother, Maurice (Moe) Hough.

Becky’s visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 17th from 4pm to 7pm at the Hough Funeral Home in Raymond. Her funeral service will be held at St. Raymond’s Catholic Church in Raymond on Wednesday, July 18th at 10:00am.
