Rosalie Ann (Whitlow) Towell

Rosalie Ann Towell, age 89 of Litchfield, passed away at Memorial Medical Center on December 10, 2019. She was born on January 9, 1930 in Barnett Illinois the daughter of John Ray and Irene Elizabeth Nieft  Whitlow. She was a homemaker and worked as a legal secretary over the years. She was a member of the Union Avenue Christian Church in Litchfield where she had worked as the church secretary. She was an election judge for South Litchfield precinct. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
She first married Max Maurice Field, he preceded her in death. On February 23, 1961 she married Bobbie Bruce Towell of Litchfield and he proceeded her in death on November 26, 2008. She is survived by one son Allen field of St. Louis and two daughters, Susan (Greg) Williams of Litchfield and Nancy Shellhammer of Springfield.  Also surviving is friend Todd Shellhammer, six grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.  Besides her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by her daughter Gloria Jean Rhoads, one brother Russell Whitlow, and two sisters Doris Nagel and Ruth House. Funeral  services will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 10 AM at the Union Ave., Christian Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be held Monday, December 16 from 4 until 7pm at Union Avenue Christian church in Litchfield. Burial will be in Hart Cemetery in Litchfield. Memorials may be left to Hart Cemetery or Union Avenue Christian Church.
