William “Bill” V. Tucker 100 of Butler passed away Dec 9, 2019 at his residence.
He was born July 10, 1919 in Harvel IL to Bryan and Lucy (Meyer) Tucker.
He attended Lone Elm School in rural Harvel and graduated from Farmersville High School.
He married Monica Kraus on July 16, 1941 at St. Mary’s Church in Farmersville. She preceded him in death in 2000.
He was a lifelong farmer and raised cattle, hogs and sheep.
He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, Hillsboro K of C, Holy Name society, Soil and Water Conservation District, Lifelong member of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau, chairman of the 4H Park board in Butler and a supporter of the Montgomery County 4H.
He is survived by one son Larry Tucker of Butler and one daughter Barbara Powley of Butler, three grandchildren Becky Tucker of Hillsboro, Sarah (Eric) Hopf of St Louis and Mark Powley of Butler and great grandchildren Alex, Lucas, Sean and Ryan Hopf, siblings Mary Lou Butler of Springfield, Paul Tucker of Austin TX, Jo Ann Rettberg of Cleveland OH, Jerry Tucker of Girard IL, Jim Tucker of Houston TX and David Tucker of Cleveland OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Monica, son in law David Powley in 2014 and siblings Rita Ellis, Imelda Oglesby, Robert Tucker and Donald Tucker.
Visitation will be Thursday Dec. 12, 2019 from 4-7 PM with a rosary to begin at 3:30 at Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
A funeral Mass will be Friday 13, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro with Fr. Dan Willenborg and Fr. Albert Allen officiating.
Burial will be in St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery in Hillsboro.
Memorials can be directed to the St. Louis Catholic School in Nokomis or for masses.
