Austin Luckett Obituary

Austin D. Luckett, age 33, recently of Hillsboro, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025, at his residence.

Per his families wishes, Austin will be cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Northern Illinois.

Austin was born the son of Larry Luckett and Liane (Platt) Luckett on August 12, 1991, in Waukegan, Illinois.

Austin lived in Palos Hills, IL up until the 1st grade when his family built a home in Lemont, IL. He attended the Lemont school district until he graduated from Lemont High School. Austin had since moved to Hillsboro, IL and was employed as a Hotel Auditor at the Baymont by Wyndham Hotel in Litchfield, IL.

Austin was a fun-loving soul that always had a joke to tell or something hilarious to say. He adored his beloved family and was also a huge lover of animals. Any animal that was in his presence knew he had a kind heart and would always find their way to him. He did not just have a passion for his family and animals though; he spent a lot of hours learning and mastering the art of skateboarding. Austin knew how to make those around him nervous by performing insane stunts on the skateboard, but everyone knows Austin knew what he was doing and to let him perfect his craft. Austin was a knowledgeable person, not just with skateboarding, but having always kept up with the nation’s events and making sure that he knew what was going on in the world around him.

Austin is survived by his beloved family, parents Larry Luckett of Hillsboro and Liane (Companion, Jay VonOsinski) Luckett of Homer Glen, IL; his siblings, half-brother Gregory Luckett of Washougal, WA, and twin siblings Chloe (Husband, Jon) Shileny of Tiney Park, IL and Nolan Luckett of Peoria, IL; his niece Nadia Shileny of Tinley Park, IL, and nephews Caleb and Gabe Luckett of Washougal, WA; as well as his fraternal grandmother Sonya Luckett of Hillsboro; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Austin was preceded in death by his fraternal grandfather Lawrence “Larry” Luckett and maternal grandparents Don and Patricia Platt.

Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.

Condolences for Mr. Austin Luckett may be left on our website www.houghfuneralhome.com.
