Bert Allen Zumwalt

Bert Allen Zumwalt Jr., 65 , of Girard, IL passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 10:21 p.m., at Memorial Hospital in Springfield, IL.

Mr. Zumwalt was born on September 26, 1958, in Litchfield, IL, to the late Bert Zumwalt Sr and Rose Mary (Blevins) Zumwalt. He worked as a Laborer and served in the US Navy.
Bert was an avid Dart Thrower, and was part of the Darts for Kids Organization. He owned B&M DJ and Karaoke Service and enjoyed playing pool and fishing and camping. He was a member of the Litchfield AM-Vets, VFW, and Moose.
He married Michelle Rabich on May 11, 2001 and she survives him, he is also survived by four sons, Devin Smith of Davenport, IA; Josh Zumwalt, Kyle Zumwalt and Jesse Zumwalt all of Girard, IL; four siblings, Orville (Angela) Zumwalt of Girard, Robert (Patty) Zumwalt of Litchfield, Patty (Denny) Allen of Hamel and Mona (Ralph) Alonzo of Colorado Springs CO. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
In lieu of Flowers donations can be made to the family to cover expenses.
Funeral services will be held on August 10 at Noon at Hough And Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Visitation will be held from 10-until the time of service on Saturday.
Burial will be in Chapman Cemetery in Mt. Olive.
A luncheon will be held at the Mt. Olive VFW following the Burial.
Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the Family with arrangements.
