Bessie M. Nolley

Bessie M. Nolley, 92, of Hillsboro, passed away March 24, 2024 at HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon IL.

She graduated from a Parochial Catholic School and from St. Johns School of Nursing. She attended St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro.

Bessie was born in Swartz, Louisiana, to Elliott and Laura (Williams) Nolley.

She was a Registered Nurse for several different nursing homes, hospitals, the State of Illinois and she also worked as a private nurse. Bessie was given the title of Director of Nursing at area Nursing Homes. She taught nursing as well.

She married Robert Ehrhardt and he preceded her in death on Nov. 13, 2015.

Bessie is survived by nephew Cleo G. Moy and nieces Sylvia M. Butler, Deborah M. Harris, Beana’dinta Nolley, and Medria B. Nolley, and her Illinois family which includes one sister Susan Lockerm, daughter Carol, grandson Robert, son Dale Nichols, Bill and Mary Speed, and DeAnna Jones.

She was preceded in death by her husband and Brothers Albert Reed, Adolph Nolley and Elliott Nolley, Jr., and Sisters Versie L. Moy, Edna M Nolley and one infant sister in infancy.

Visitation will be Thursday from 9:30 Am until service time at St Agnes Church.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on April 11, 2024 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro with Father Dan Willenborg officiating. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.
