Brian "Bob" McNealy

Brian “Bob” McNealy 59 of Hillsboro passed away April 26, 2020 at his residence.

He was born Nov. 25, 1960 in Alton IL to Bobby J. and Pauline (Copeland) McNealy.

He married Vicky Campbell on March 20, 1982 and she survives.

He was a 1978 graduate of Civic Memorial High School in Bethalto IL., and attended college at the law enforcement academy.

He worked as a correctional officer including teaching self-defense classes to officers and Hillsboro High School female students. He was Chief of police in Wilsonville IL and worked for the Hillsboro police department and Hillsboro fire department as a fireman and dispatch, He retired as a member of the Alton Belle gaming board.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist church in Hillsboro, He pastored Reno Baptist Church. He was an avid lover of all pets and was known as the “Clockman” as he repaired old clocks and CB radios, He was an antique and coin collector as well.

He is survived by his wife Vicky, Daughters Bobbie (husband Roger) Diveley of Staunton, Ashley (Husband Bradley) O’Reilly of Gilberts IL and Christina McNealy of Troy, two brothers Christopher (Jennisha) McNealy of Waterloo and Rev. Matthew (Stephanie) McNealy of Bethalto IL and was Papa to Olive Faith and Mercy Rose Diveley.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter in infancy Mary Ruth McNealy on Dec. 1, 1985.

Memorials can be directed to Paws Care or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

A family funeral service will held Friday May 1, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

Friends are invited to go in procession to the cemetery at approximately 11:30 AM for a graveside burial at Woodburn Cemetery in Bunker Hill, Please remain in you vehicles.

At 11:00 the funeral will be live streamed via Facebook on Hough funeral homes and cremation page followed by live stream of the grave side service.
