Clarence Hitt 87 of Hillsboro passed away Jan 18, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
He was born May 28, 1933 in Hillsboro IL to Roy and Alice (Casey) Hitt.
He graduated from Hillsboro High School.
He was a custodian at MacMurray College in Jacksonville and later at International Filter Manufacturing in Litchfield.
He was a lifelong member and the oldest member of St. James Baptist Church in Hillsboro where he loved to sing. He loved going to church, bicycling and had a great sense of humor.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews including Alisha Crump and Pam Macon, two brothers Paul and Harold Hitt and one sister Alice Randell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers Herman, Benjamin and Roy Jr. Hitt and one sister Mildred Crump.
Funeral services will be Jan. 25, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro; visitation will be from 12:00 PM until the time of service with Rev. James Hayes officiating.
Burial will be in Bluff Cemetery in Hillsboro
