Debra (Plunkett) Patton

Debra Sue (Plunkett) Patton, 62, of Hillsboro, died on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will begin at 12 noon on Monday, June 12, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro with the Rev. Stefan Munker officiating.  Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at the church on Monday.  Burial will follow services at Cress Hill Cemetery.  Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Patton was born on Jan. 19, 1961, in Hillsboro to Cleveland and Delores (Hartman) Plunkett.  She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1979, worked as a secretary for her father at Plunkett Insurance and Real Estate, and had worked as a long-term care CNA.

She loved concerts and loud rock music, was a fan of the St. Louis Blues, St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs and Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and was devoted to her cats.

She married Danny Patton on July 18, 1981, and he survives along with her parents; one son, Douglas (Samantha) Patton of Wheaton; three grandchildren, Abby, Ariana and Levi; and one brother, Mike (Heather) Plunkett of Hillsboro.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Bower.

Memorials may be given to Paws Care or St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro.  Condolences may be left at www.houghfuneralhome.com.
