Delores M. Wilson

Delores “Dee” Mae Wilson, age 84 of Hillsboro passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at 7:07pm at Heritage Health Care in Carlinville.  Delores was a member of Christ United Presbyterian Church in St. Louis.  She loved her family, friends, traveling, and volunteering at her church. 

Mrs. Wilson was born March 3, 1936 in Springfield, IL to George and Hilda Bengel Bacon. She married Harry Cowan and later divorced. She then married the love of her life, Robin “Bob” Wilson on August 31, 1979 and he preceded her in 2004.  She worked for the Illinois Department of Revenue as a Sales Tax Supervisor before moving to St. Louis. 

She is survived by her children, Leigh Ann Turner of Hillsboro, Christopher (companion Tim Arnold) Cowan of St. Louis, Jan Jasper of St. Louis, and Carol Michalski of St. Louis; grandchildren, Amanda, Ryan, Patrick, Dustin, Ron, Robyn, Joshua, Ariel, and Churie; 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, daughter Tracey Clausen, and her son -in-law Jessie Turner, and siblings Charles Bacon, Catherine “Ike” Smith, Betty Bacon, Geraldine Buckley, Franklin Bacon, and George Bacon. 

Memorials may be made to the Harvest Food Pantry in Hillsboro.  Private graveside services will be held at a later date at New Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery in Bellefontaine Neighbors in St. Louis, MO.  Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family with the arrangements.
