Donald Lee Angle

Donald Lee Angle, aged 83, of Litchfield, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2023, at his residence.

He was born October 29, 1939, to his parents George Henry and Leona Mae (Angle) Burge in Litchfield, Illinois.

After graduating from Gillespie High School, Donald went on to the United States Navy to serve his country. He eventually worked as a coal miner and then for Caterpillar and was a truck driver. Donald was also a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary in Litchfield.

Donald married Barbara Osborn on May 15, 2011. He is survived by his wife Barbara, children Shane (Michelle) Angle, TX; Dustin (Lisa) Angle, Hillsboro; Cammie (Jim) Simpson, Litchfield; and Siearra Glisson, Granite City, as well as 13 grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother Rex (Diane) Burge of Mount Olive, several nieces and nephews, and in-laws John “Buck” Osborn, Witt; Daniel Osborn, Chatham; Brian Osborn, Schram City; Debra “Poss” Beattie, Springfield, MO.; and Vicky White, Hillsboro.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Gregory Burge, a nephew Brian Burge, and in-laws Mary Osborn, Tim Osborn, and Jeff Osborn.

A celebration of life for Donald will be held at the Litchfield VFW on Friday, June 2, 2023, from 5:00-8:00 PM.
