Donald Shoemaker Obituary
Donald Lee Shoemaker Sr. 72 of Hillsboro formerly of Waggoner passed away Sunday Jan 13 2019 at Hillsboro Rehabilitation Center.
The son of Frank Shoemaker he was born July 24, 1946 in Springfield IL.
He was a high school graduate and attended Lincoln Land Community College; he was raised in the catholic religion.
He was honorably discharged after 22years of military service in the US Navy, Army Reserves and National Guard where he worked as Unit Supply Sargent; he also worked as a security guard for the state of Illinois.
He married Judy Nelson and she survives.
He is survived by four sons Herb Shoemaker of Springfield, Frank (Angie) Shoemaker of Standard City, Donald Shoemaker II of Morrisonville and Gene (Amy) Shoemaker of New Berlin and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father.
Grave side services and burial will be Thursday Jan 17, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield with full military rites conducted by the Veterans burial detail of Sangamon County.
