Dorothy Marie Heaton, age 74, passed away surrounded by her family on March 28 at 3:10 pm at Inverness Health Care and Rehab in Inverness, IL after a 25 year long battle with Parkinson's Disease. She was born on September 25, 1947., the daughter of Paul E. and Francis E. Dietz Clarke.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Margaret Griffith, and her son Shane Heaton.
She is survived by her husband David of 55 years who she married on March 11, 1967 in Farmersville, also surviving are her daughter Maria (David) McFeggan, her grandchildren Jordan and Elyse McFeggan, her brother Larry (Jo) Clarke, and her sister Carol Clarke.
Dorothy was a long time member of St. Mary's church in Farmersville, where she was a proud member of the choir. For many years she also helped with the Waggoner Play and served as the Farmersville Village Treasure.
She, in her earlier years, worked at the Hospital Corps School at the Great Lakes Naval Academy. After returning to Farmersville she began working for the State of Illinois and then began her career at State Bank of Farmersville/Bank and Trust Company. After more than 33 years she retired as the branch assistant manager.
She loved to paint and create beautiful floral arrangements for her home and the homes of her loved ones.
Visitation will be held one hour before the Funeral Mass that will be officiated by Fr. John Burnette and held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Farmersville at 10:00am on April 8, 2022. Burial will follow in St. Martins Cemetery in Farmersville.
