Ellen R. (Compton) Snyder

Ellen R. Brown Snyder 88 of Harrisburg IL formerly of Irving passed away Nov. 9, 2021 in Harrisburg.

She was born June 8, 1933 in Witt IL, to Lester and Mercy (Hadley) Compton.

She married Harold “Ed” Brown and he preceded her Sept 18, 1977, she married Donald Snyder and he preceded her on April 25, 2005.

She was saved when she was 14 years old and read her Bible daily. She received her GED at the age of 30 and she cherished her family and especially the little ones.

She was a homemaker, and was a past member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro and current member of Dorrisville Baptist Church in Harrisburg.

She is survived by one daughter Marcia (Dwight) Pray of Harrisburg, son Mark (Roxie) Brown of Witt, Step children Shirley (Mick) Korunka of Mt. Olive, Donna (James) Green of Litchfield, Steven (Sherian) Snyder of Mt Olive  and several grandchildren and great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and one sister Jenny (Edmund) Hill of Nokomis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Ed and Donald, one daughter Marla Settle, grandson Brandon Pray and great granddaughter Hadley Wallace and step daughter Vicky Scott and step son Richard Snyder and 6 brothers and one sister.

Memorials can be directed to MCCA or Dorrisville Baptist Church in Harrisburg.

Funeral services will be Monday Nov. 15, 2021 at 1:00 PM at                                      Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Dr. Ronald Rhodus officiating visitation will be from 12:00 PM until service time.

Burial will be in Nokomis Cemetery in Nokomis.
