Fairy Jewell (White) Elam

Fairy Jewell (White) Elam 89 of Irving passed away Jan 21, 2022 at her residence.

She was born in Coffeen IL on Oct. 8, 1932 to Charles and Lillie (McCaslin) White.

She was a homemaker and she and her husband opened a general store that later turned into J& A Country Kitchen in Braidwood.

Memorials can be directed to MCCA or Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation in Taylor Springs.

She married Alfred F. Elam Sr., he preceded her in 2019.

She is survived by one son Merle (Ann) Elam of Coal City Il and two daughters Bonnie Sue (Floyd) Scheifer of Irving and Rhonda Scheifer of Witt, 8 grandchildren Joanna (Shawn) Dames, Brian (Taushia) Elam, Stephanie (Ken) Smith, Rebecca (Brad) Wood, Jewell Ann (Keith Raymond) Scheifer, Kimberly (Colton Smith) Scheifer, Courtney (Andy) Bounds and Tristen (Caitlyn) Scheifer, 17 great Grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren one sister Lucy Ross of Taylor Springs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Alfred, one son in infancy Alfred Elam Jr., one great-great granddaughter Ellie Lynnell Marie Scheifer and 9 siblings.

Funeral services will be held will be held Wednesday Jan 26, 2022 at 1:00 Pm at Hough& Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro; visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 Am until service time.

Burial will be at a later date.
