Gary Leo Bergschneider

The soul of Gary Leo Bergschneider departed his body on May 18, 2024 at his home with his wife and family by his side. Gary lived with Parkinsons disease for almost 15 years. Gary was born August 15, 1948 the son of Leo and Betty Westbrook Bergschneider in Hillsboro, IL. He lived in Harvel for many years where he served as Fire Chief and an EMT for the Raymond/Harvel ambulance. He moved to rural Farmersville in 1988. He worked at Bergschneider Trucking and a short time for UPS He enjoyed being outdoors and many years were spent camping & boating. Gary loved living in the country with his wife Connie of almost 49 years together. He loved his pets and will be sadly missed by his 17 year old cat Baby Gray who was never far from him. He is survived by his wife Connie (Pernicka) Bergschneider, son Matt (Jana) Bergschneider of Taylorville, Grand children Jade (Lane) Bollinger, Reese Bergschneider & Jase Bergschneider, Ashley Page & Tiffany (Jason) Robinson. He adored his Great Grandchildren Dominic, Zoey & Charlotte and a brother Ron (Gail) Bergschneider also survives. In accordance with his wishes cremation with private graveside services at Tine Sawyer Cemetery will take place Friday May 24, 2024. A Celebration of Life to be planned at a later date.
