Gary L. "Sammy" Boerckel Sr.

Gary L. “Sammy” Boerckel Sr. 66 of Litchfield passed away March 14, 2022 at Aperion Care in Litchfield.

He was born May 18, 1955 in Highland IL to Clarence and Dorothy (Riedleberger) Boerckel.

He was a sexton at Sunnyside Cemetery in Sorento. He was a member of the Sorento Baptist Church and loved to go fishing.

He was married to Denise Davis for 23 years. He is survived by three children Kristal Boerckel of Nokomis, Gary Boerckel Jr. and Scott Boreckel both of Litchfield, three grandchildren Chelsey Boerckel, David Friesland Jr., Scott Boerckel Jr and one step grandson Shawn Wesbrook and 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Linda Burnett and one daughter in law Jennie Boerckel.
