Obituary

George Michael "Mike" Stephenson, age 72, of Litchfield passed after losing a battle with pancreatic cancer away September 21, 2021 at Hillsboro Rehab in Hillsboro. He was born the son of Homer C. and Pauline Joan Pass Stephenson on September 7, 1949 in Litchfield, Illinois.

Mike graduated from Litchfield High School and had also attended and graduated from Rankin Tech before he joined the Marines where he served in Vietnam.

After returning from active duty you married Barbara Broaddus on June 12, 1976 in Raymond, which later ended in divorce.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, VFW and Moose Lodge all in Litchfield.

His children Amy M. and husband Shawn Bethard of Morrisonville,
Katie M. Stephenson of Springfield and Michael W. wife Kristin Stephenson of Farmersville, survive him along with his grand children Carter, Cooper, and Camden Bethard and Grayson Wood. Also surviving him are his siblings Paul wife Evie Stephenson of Hoyleton and Helen Schuetze of Carlinville and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, his siblings; Theresa J. Murphy, Larry, Bill, Charles, and John Stephenson all preceded him in death.

Memorials maybe give to Marines Toys for Tots or the Family.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 4-6 at Hough Funeral Home in Raymond.

Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 am on Friday, September 24, 2021 at St. Raymond Catholic Church in Raymond with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery in Litchfield.
