Harold W. Jurgena 92 of Irving passed away May 13, 2021 at Montgomery Nursing and Rehab. He was born Nov. 9, 1928 in Irving IL to George W. and Ila M. (Voils) Jurgena. He was a 1946 graduate of Hillsboro High School. He was a lifelong farmer; He also worked at the Hillsboro glass Plant for over 40 years. He had been on the Hillsboro School Board, Hillsboro Educational Foundation as a Co-Founder, Hillsboro Educational Foundation Alumni award Recipient in 2011, Mayor of Irving for 42 years, Montgomery County Health Department Board Member, Continuing Recovery Center Board Treasurer, Irving Masonic Lodge Past Master, ANSAR Shrine Temple, St Luke’s Church and Council, He enjoyed going to Antique tractor shows and going to tractor shops and a member of the Mid-State Collectors club. He was married over 55 years to Delores Lueking on August 10, 1965, and she survives. He is also survived by one son William “Bill” (Tracy) Jurgena and one daughter Carol (Frank) Elam , 6 grandchildren Angela (Alban) Kaculi, Katie (Luke) Stewart, Christopher (Hannah) Jurgena, Sarah (Cory) McFarlane, Susan (Edward) Stewart and Melissa (Baxter) Grace and 9 great grandchildren Emmett, Pax, Saylor Myles, Addaline, Isabelle, Elise, Ema and Andrew. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson Martin Jurgena. Memorials can be directed to the Hillsboro Educational Foundation. Masonic rites and a private family funeral service will be held. Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.
