Helen B. (Sale) Fernandes

Helen B. Sale Fernandes 86 of Springfield IL, passed away Oct 10, 2024 at Memorial Hospital in Springfield.

Helen was born to William and Berniece (Hill) Sale on May 21, 1938.

She married Ronald Fernandes and he preceded her in death.

She was a graduate of Hillsboro high school; she worked her entire life in banking in the Springfield area as a data processor.  She loved her cats and reading. She was a diehard St. Louis Cardinal fan. Traveling was her passion; she traveled to numerous US states and on several overseas tours.

She is survived by one son Michael (Sarah) Fernandes of Virden and two grandchildren Daniel and Katelynn Fernandes and one sister Eleanor Shroyer of Mt. Olive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ronald and two brothers William “Willie” and Charles Sale, two sisters in infancy Louise and Mary Sale.

Funeral services will be Saturday Oct 19, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro; visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until service time on Saturday.

Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery in Raymond.
