James E. Mehlberg

James “Jim” Edward Mehlberg 67 of Fillmore passed away at his residence on Oct. 18, 2023.

He was born in Hillsboro on March 7, 1956.

He is survived by his mother Alice (Garwood) Lindsay.

He worked at the Nokomis rock quarry; He was a veteran of the US Army, He attended Grace Fellowship Baptist Church in Fillmore and enjoyed fishing.

He married Reba M (Hartman) in Litchfield IL on June 30, 1990 and she preceded him in death on June 19, 2012.

He is survived by his mother Alice, and children Robert (Brenda) Mehlberg of Witt, Nia Mehlberg of Litchfield, 8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, siblings Kenneth Lindsay of Rushville, Barbara Thompson  of Irving, Steve Lindsay of Vandalia, Lisa (Terry) Hancock of Litchfield, Lou (Tim) Plowman of Concord IL, David (Lisa) Lindsay of Litchfield and Thomas (Lori) Lindsay of Hillsboro.

He was preceded in death by two children Brian Mehlberg and Ernie Frayer and one brother Darrel Lindsay.

A memorial service and burial at Glendale Cemetery in Fillmore will be held at a later date.
