John Burrow Obituary

John M. Burrow, 71, of Carlinville died Sunday, 

January 21, 2024, at 9:40 p.m. at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. A Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, January 28, from 11-1 at the Chesterfield Community Center, 115 West Depot St Chesterfield, IL.

Burial will be held in Keller Cemetery near Chesterfield.

John was born March 26, 1952, in Litchfield the son of John "Sammy" and Esther (Durbin) Burrow. He graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1970.

He was married to Ann M. Murray; they married on December 4, 1971.

He served in the National Guard for 8 years. John spent most of his life working on the farm, taking care of the livestock and the land.

He is survived by his children Amee (Duane) Lee of Carlinville, Michael (Beth) Burrow of Chesterfield, Kathleen (Wade) Schmidt of Carlinville, Jeremy (Amy) Burrow of TN, Anne Fullington of Hillsboro, Kara Burrow of Wilsonville, Tyler (Katie) Burrow of Carlinville, 18 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Also surviving are five sisters, Barbara Mullen, Blanche Martin, Brenda Danley, Belva Willman and Bonnie Frillman; and a brother, Tom Burrow.

His parents and one sister Beverly Maguire preceded him in death.

Memorials in John's honor may be directed to the Squirrel Bowl/Project Third Day or the Greenfield FFA.

Hough Funeral Home in Raymond is assisting the family with arrangements.
