John Gusick Jr. Obituary
John R. Gusick Jr., 53 of Hillsboro passed away Oct. 28, 2023, at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
He was born on July 14, 1970, in Blue Island IL to John R. Gusick Sr. and Margaret “Peggy” (Tuxford) Harris.
He was a 1989 Graduate of Hillsboro High School and got his CDL at Lincoln Land Community College. He was an over the road truck driver and recently a cook assistant at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation. He lived life carefree and simple and unapologetically his own way. He loved storms, music, eating, nature, geography, the Green Bay Packers, St. Louis Blues and Cardinals especially time with his family.
He is survived by his mother Peggy of Clay City IL, stepfather Fred Harris of Clay City IL, siblings Laura Gusick of Springfield, Sara (Bryan) Burnham of Jamestown ND and Jeff (Megan) Gusick of Crystal Lake IL, and his dog Stormy.
He was preceded in death by his father John.
A private family celebration of Life will be held.
