John W. “Bill” Trader, 69, of Litchfield formerly of Hillsboro passed away May 2, 2023, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 5, 1953, in Fairmont W.V., to George and Frances (Jorden) Trader.
He was a graduate for Hillsboro High School in 1971. He worked at the Coffeen Power house #2, 12 years at IGA, City of Hillsboro Lake Patrol, and area supervisor for Casey’s General store of 17 years and at Putnam Wright Ford. He started Boy Scout Troop #377; he had been district commissioner and scout leader. He was a past member of the Litchfield Moose Club. He was a member of the Hillsboro Free Methodist Church.
He married Kathy Hopper June 16, 1973, and she survives along with one son Matthew (Jamie) Trader of O’Fallon IL., one grandson Angelo Trader, one Aunt Lucy Vandergrift of Fairmont W.V. and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother George W. Trader.
Memorials can be directed to Montgomery County Animal Rescue or Paws Care.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held Saturday May 6, 2023, at 11:00 AM; visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time at Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Randy Sands officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro.
