Joshua Lee Ernst, 33, of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, December 16, 2022 in Hillsboro.
He was born December 20, 1988, the son of Phillip Lee and Veronica Renea (Murkin) Ernst in Hillsboro, Illinois.
Josh enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, camping, and a was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
He is survived by his parents; Veronica (husband, Christopher) Smith of Energy, Il Phil (Wife, Lora) Ernst of Hillsboro, daughter, Faith Autumn Ernst of Fairfield, IL , siblings; Megan Renee Ernst of Energy, IL, Micheal Murkin of Nokomis, Shawn Emerson of Irving, IL and Barbie Emerson of Lincoln, IL, Grandmother Beverly M. Ernst of Hillsboro Nephew Reese Boas. Also surviving are many aunts uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Henry A. Ernst, Dorothy and Gary Murkin, Uncle Gary Murkin Jr., sibling Derek Boas
Memorials may be directed to the family for help with expenses or for the benefit for his daughter.
Visitation will be held on Friday December 23, 2022 from 1-3pm. Funeral service will be held at 3 pm at Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Pastor Greg Shannon will be officiating.
