Kenneth James Jett Sr.

Kenneth James Jett Sr. 96 of Litchfield passed away Nov. 6, 2023 at his residence.

He was born March 12, 1927 in Butler IL to John Martin and Cleo Marie (Taylor) Jett.

He started work for his father on their farm, some construction and rail road work and Webco and Echlin in Litchfield in maintenance and the boiler system.  He was trustee of South Litchfield Township, he enjoyed hunting and shooting at the Litchfield Sportsman Club. He was a member of the South Side church in Litchfield.

Kenneth served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

He married Phyllis Jeffers on Dec. 16, 1967 and she survives along with his children Richard Jett of Greenfield, Sue (Dennis) Eller on Ava Mo., Tim (Della) Jett of Davenport Iowa, Thomas James Jett of Coffeen, Tena Cooks of Davenport Iowa, Kenneth J. Jett Jr (companion Brendan Berg) and Scott (Tara) Jett of Litchfield, numerous Grandchildren, great Grandchildren and Great-great Grandchildren one sister in Law Ginger Jett of Litchfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, children Walter Eugene Jett, Julie Golden and Robert Jett, siblings John, Tom, Gerald, Pearl, Earl, Harold and Elsie Jett, Bernice Fenton and Etta Miller.

Memorials may be given to South Side Church in Litchfield.

Services will be Friday Nov. 17, 2023 at 12:00 PM at South Side Church at 500 South Illinois St. in Litchfield with Rev. Nathan Diveley officiating; visitation will be Friday from 10:00 until service time.

Private family burial will be in Hart Cemetery.
