Larry Eugene Bess, 84, of Litchfield died at his home on Tuesday, July 19, 2022.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 22, at Mt. Moriah Cemetery near Coffeen.
Hough Funeral Home Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.
Larry was born in Coffeen on June 8, 1938, the son of Harry Earl and Mildred (White) Bess. He married Diana Lee Pulliam in Hillsboro on April 24, 1960, she preceded him on July 27, 2015.
Larry "Goose", was a retired coal miner and was member of the UMWA and Litchfield Moose Lodge 1634. He was an avid Cardinal Fan and online Poker Player. Most of all he enjoyed being a grandpa and eating fresh garden vegetables
He is survived by two sons, Rodney Bess and Rick Bess both of Litchfield; daughter, Lori Owens of Raymond; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wife, Diana, he was preceded in death by two sons, Jeff Bess and Joe Bess, by a brother, Francis Bess and sister, Shirley Minnix; and granddaughter, Shala Lee Bess.
