Larry Leon Collins

Larry Leon Collins, 81 passed away at 12:35 PM Tuesday October 26, 2021 at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation in Taylor Springs IL. Cremation rites have been accorded and remains will be buried at a later date.

He was born June 22, 1940 in Hillsboro to Paul and Eileen (Redding) Collins.

He married Beverly Joan (Kinder) Collins on November 12, 1961 at Jackson County AR. She preceded him in death in 2011.

The couple resided in Taylor Springs and Hillsboro all their adult life; they were the owners of Trails End Bar and Grill.

Larry also was a deputy for Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department and a police officer for Taylor Springs.
He is survived by two children, Charles (wife Tracy) Collins of Hillsboro, Terri (husband Ollie) Wright of Decatur, six grandchildren Stasia Luevano, Jacqlyn Naugle, Andrew Collins, Paige Collins, Jacob Wright and Kayla Wendt, three great grandchildren Pacey Collins, Samantha Weiss and Hezekiah Wright and one sibling Betty Gurley.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and one sister Colleen Gates.
