Larry Lee Jenkins, age 79, of Raymond, passed away December 11, 2021 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. He was born the son of Merton LaRue and Margaret E. Clardy Jenkins on January 16, 1942 in Divernon, Illinois.
He served in the US Army and later was employed as a Truck Driver for CISCO Steel in Carlinville where he retired.
He married Betty Gorsage Pope on September 26, 1991 and she survives.
He was a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church, in Raymond.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Janet S. Jackson of Litchfield, and son Rick Jenkins of Mt. Olive, a step daughter Penny (Bobby) Grundy Morrisonville, and step son Allen Pope of Nokomis and stepdaughter in Law Terri Pope of Raymond, 14 grand children 18 great Grandchildren. Also surviving him are his siblings Bernard wife Margaret Jenkins of Raymond Jeanette husband Paul Huber Of Hillsboro Lois Jenkins of Springfield, Marie Ginter of Rochester, Marvin wife Nora of Litchfield, Vickie Jenkins of California and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, his sister Sue and stepson Randy Pope preceded him in death.
Memorials maybe give to the Raymond-Harvel Ambulance, Raymond-Harvel Fire Dept. or Pleasant Hill Christian Church.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 9-11 am at Pleasant Hill Christian Church in Raymond.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Thursday also at the Church in Raymond with burial in St. Agnes Cemetery in Hillsboro
