Larry Sprankle Obituary

Larry Dean Sprankle, 80, of Hillsboro, passed away at his home the morning of Wednesday, December 3, 2025. He was born on January 5, 1945, in Sterling, Illinois, the son of John and Marjorie (Piper) Sprankle. Mr. Sprankle and the former Karen Faye Spencer were married May 28, 1983, in Rock Falls, Illinois. She survives. He was a member of First Congregational Church in Rock Falls. Additionally, he was a fifty-year member of the IBEW Local #309, Collinsville, IL. Mr. Sprankle was employed as a tree trimmer, ensuring trees were a safe distance from power lines to help prevent outages. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family.

Wife, Karen Sprankle of Hillsboro

Sons, Dale (Carrie) Knox and Bobby Knox

Daughter, Denise (Angelo) Barger of Hillsboro

Nephew, Randy (Barbara) Weiser of Peoria

Grandchildren, Cody (Tashia) Lohman, Brock (Desiree) Lohman, Trevor Lohman, Tekla Lohman, Bryson (Areil) Knox, Kelsie Knox, Macenzie Knox, and Jayci (companion Chris Furlow) White

Nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Sprankle was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marjorie Sprankle, and a sister, Phyllis Weiser.

Services for Mr. Sprankle will be held in Rock Falls, Illinois, at a later date.
