Linda Jane (Pittman) Murphy

Linda Jane Murphy age 75 of Nokomis died on May 30, 2018 at her son’s home in Cisne.

Linda was born in Oklahoma on January 21, 1942, the daughter of Delbert and Alice Scheile Pittman

Married Joe Murphy August 1st, 1964 in Mt. Vernon and he survives.

She is a member of the Christian Church at Cisne IL and attended Nokomis United Methodist Church and the 1st Pentecostal Church at Nokomis. 

She worked as a beautician, taught at Mt. Vernon's Beauty School, was an educator at WOVSED in Norris City and Nokomis Early Childhood Program. 

She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She served as a board member for Community Child Care Connections in Springfield.

Besides her husband Joe, she is survived by her Children-Joe (Kathy) Murphy of Enfield, Jeff (Mary) Murphy of Cisne, and Jana (John) Masten of Raymond.

Grandchildren-Tamara, and Joli Murphy,  Jaci, (Justin) Crain and Jensen and Jaxen Masten.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson Jayden Masten.

Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Nokomis on June 4that 10:00 am

Visitation will be held Sunday June 3 from 3-6 pm at the church.

Memorials can me left in Linda’s name to the Linda Murphy Memorial Fund
