Margaret Mary (Wells) Sharp

Margaret Mary (Wells) Sharp, 73, of Hillsboro, passed away August 31, 2023, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Margaret was born in Chicago to her parents Tom and Ann Wells on August 6, 1950.

She was a high school graduate and went on to study at Lincoln Land Community College. Margaret was a hard worker who loved Jesus, her family and life altogether. She worked at Hillsboro Glass but has since retired. In her free time, she enjoyed going to the casinos and slot machines.

Margaret married John Sharp and they have been married for 38 years. Along with her partner John, four children survive her: Mike Lebeter of Morrisonville, Robbi Hoppes of Gillespie, John Sharp of Taylor Springs, and Jonnalin Sharp of Carlinville. Also surviving are her grandkids Katrina Grundy, Maddlin Lebeter, Charles Williams, Jayde Sharp, Chad Sharp, and one great granddaughter Lena Grundy. Margaret’s siblings Pat Planek, Nancy Peat, Wess Wells, Matt Wells, Angie McDonald, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews also survive her.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Billy Wells and Theresa Blanchong.

Memorials in Margaret honor may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.

Graveside services for Margaret will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Noon in Green Hill Cemetery in Van Burensburg with burial to follow. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM at Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro until the time of service. With Pastor Ron Butler officiating.
