Margaret "Marge" L. (Grundy) Held

Margaret Louise “Marge” Held age 92, of Raymond, passed away Tuesday, October
11, 2022 at her residence.
Marge was born November 21, 1929 in Morrisonville, the eldest daughter of
Howard Linus and Evelyn Marie (Millburg) Grundy.  She married Raymond “Daisy”
Held on November 9, 1949 at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville.  He
preceded her in death on December 14, 2005.
She was a homemaker, farmwife, and active member of the family business (Held
Sales and Service). She was a member of the St. Raymond Altar and Rosary Society,
Raymond-Harvel Kiwanis and helped with the Knights of Columbus Dinners and the
Panhandle Food Panty
She was preceded in death by her spouse and infant son, sisters; Barbara “Babe”
Todt, Theresa Seelbach and Catherine “Mick” Sheedy; brothers, John Robert Grundy
and Wayne Grundy; and son-in-law Scott Long.
She is survived by her children, Denny (Debbie) Held of Raymond, Maurice ( Judy)
Held of Mokena, Jan (Clarence) Smith of Raymond, Randy (Cheri) Held of
Springfield, Angie Long of Machesney Park; grandchildren Dr. Kendall Held, Tyler
Long, Ryan Held (finacee’ Lexie Lupton) and Hannah Long, sisters; Helen Healy of
Springfield, Mae (Walt) Hilby of Springfield, Ruth (Bob) Matli of Harvel, Alice
“Pudge” (Kirk) Downey of Morrisonville, and Rose (Bob) Gowin of Morrisonville;
and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation: The family will receive guests from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, October 13,
2022 at St. Raymond Catholic Church, in Raymond. A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday October 14, 2022 at St.
Raymond Catholic Church, with Fr. Florent Kanga officiating the Funeral Mass.
Interment will follow at St. Raymond Catholic Cemetery in Raymond.  
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Raymond-Harvel Ambulance, St.
Raymond Cemetery or The Raymond Park
