Margaret "Peggy" (Blanchard) Balestri

Margaret “Peggy” Balestri, 72, of Nokomis, passed away Sept 3, 2022, at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.

She was born on Jan. 14, 1950, in Chicago IL to Howard and Aletha B. (Winnett) Blanchard.

She was a waitress and server for many years at the Cracker Barrel.

She volunteered at the Nokomis Food Pantry. She loved hummingbirds and passed on National Hummingbird Day.

She was married to David Balestri.

Peggy is survived by her children Rita Skipton of Iowa, Crystal (Don) Grimes of Florida, Nikki (Mike) Cummins of Kansas, Mahlon Richardson of Iowa and Pamela Smith of Witt and her stepchildren Stephen (Kim) Balestri of Springfield, Elijah Balestri of Canton, Gailon Balestri Springfield, Gavin (Jennifer) Balestri of Litchfield, 23 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband David Balestri, two grandsons, one granddaughter, and two sisters Janet Wilkins and Debbie Crimmins.

Memorials can be directed to Nokomis Food Pantry.

A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
